博文（武田真治 饰）认识了公司的同事美荣子（菅野美穗 饰）。美荣子是个聋哑人，平日需要用手语跟他人沟通，生性乐观但缺乏自信。博文很快被这个美丽的女孩子吸引住，完全不会以为她的残疾而歧视她，相反在工作上频频帮助美荣子。为了能进一步了解美荣子，跟美荣子更好的沟通，善良体贴的博文决定学会手语。两人开始用手语交流，继而相知相恋。 　　很快他们结婚了，并育有一名女儿千鹤，婚后的生活更多的是博文照顾美荣子，虽然美荣子觉得相当抱歉，但博文却十分乐在其中。女儿的降临给这个特殊的家庭增添了活力，同时也增加了不少烦恼，都需要一家人共同进退……
